Researching and producing clean and safe auto-mobility are the main objectives of the the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA= Verband der Automobilindustrie). The VDA nationally and internationally promotes the interests of the entire German automotive industry. Its members consist of automobile manufacturers, suppliers and manufacturers of trailers, special bodies and containers. The VDA represents more than 600 member automotive companies.

Automotive Industry Action Group
The Automotive Industry Action Group is a globally recognized organization founded in 1982 by a group of visionary managers from Chrysler, Ford Motor Company, and General Motors. The purpose: To provide an open forum where members cooperate in developing and promoting solutions that enhance the prosperity of the automotive industry. AIAG's focus is to continuously improve business processes and practices involving trading partners throughout the supply chain.

European Automobile Manufactures Association
The European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), founded in 1991, represents the interests of the fifteen European car, truck and bus manufacturers at EU level. Its membership consists of the major international automobile companies, working together in an active association to ensure effective communication and negotiation with legislative, commercial, technical, consumer, environmental and other interests. The members of ACEA are competitors in the automobile market place and support free and fair competition as a trade policy and a legal concept. ACEA is an Economic Interest Grouping. Its headquarters are based in Brussels and made up of the Secretary General and the Secretariat. In 1995 and 2004, ACEA opened additional offices in Tokyo and Beijing.
