stipulated that products placed on the EU market that contain SVHC in concentrations greater than 0.1% must be reported to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The SCIP database can be used to report these types of substances \u2013 read more about the database <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imds-professional.com\/en\/scip-database-information\/\">here<\/a>. While many other industries have had to set up reporting systems and processes from scratch, the automotive industry was able to draw on data that was already available in the IMDS. In addition, IMDS Release 13 (May 2021) introduced an interface from the IMDS to the SCIP database. This means that IMDS users can transfer their data directly to the database without having to use other systems such IUCLID.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the WFD also stipulates that semi-finished products should be reported as they are defined as \u201carticles\u201d under REACH. This can cause a significant challenge for many companies, particularly because only parts and not semi-finished products can be reported in SCIP from the IMDS. This means manufacturers of semi-finished products need to use alternative processes \u2013 at least for the time being.<\/p>\n<p>But you don\u2019t have to deal with these kinds of challenges on your own.
