This enables the identification of potentially concerning substances and their exact concentrations. It is intended to facilitate the recycling and reuse of end-of-life vehicles and their components and can also serve as a basis for planning substitutions so that these substances can be avoided in the future. \u201cThe European Green Deal has given the IMDS a new significance,\u201d explains Magdalena Georgi. This is because it stipulates that plastics, in particular, must be recycled to a greater extent in future and that a greater proportion of recyclates should be used. The aim is to reduce greenhouse gases. It has been possible to enter recyclate data in the IMDS for some time now. \u201cBut it\u2019s not that easy. In our training courses we show businesses exactly how to do this, among other things,\u201d says Georgi. Next year, it will also be possible to enter data on the CO2 footprint in the IMDS.
