accordance with the Stockholm Convention and the substances regulated under the corresponding EU Regulation ((EU) 2019\/1021) are updated regularly.<\/p>\n<p>The Stockholm Convention already included Dechlorane Plus in Annex A in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pops.int\/TheConvention\/ThePOPs\/TheNewPOPs\/tabid\/2511\/Default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">May 2023<\/a>. This substance is a chlorinated flame retardant and is frequently used in the electronics, automotive, construction and aviation industries.<\/p>\n<p>On May 15, 2025, the European Commission adopted a <a href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/info\/law\/better-regulation\/have-your-say\/initiatives\/13888-Persistent-organic-pollutant-dechlorane-plus_en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">delegated act<\/a> to adapt the EU POP Regulation and add Dechlorane Plus. Its production and use will soon be banned with a few exceptions. However, there are transitional arrangements so that, for example, products that have already been placed on the market may continue to be used under certain conditions.
