Internal Market Committees presented final compromise amendments to the proposal for a \u201cRegulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on recycling requirements for the design of vehicles and the management of end-of-life vehicles.\u201d These amendments include a number of changes to the original proposal.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Greater emphasis on the circular economy\n<ul>\n<li>Waste should be avoided and design for recycling promoted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>Extended manufacturer obligations\n<ul>\n<li>Manufacturers are responsible for take-back and recycling.<\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>A digital product passport should to be introduced.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>Export regulations for end-of-life vehicles\n<ul>\n<li>Illegal disposal should be prevented and traceability improved.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>Data management and reporting obligations\n<ul>\n<li>There are more binding requirements for the collection and publication of data on vehicle recycling.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>Clarifications and definitions\n<ul>\n<li>Terms such as \u201cend-of-life vehicle,\u201d \u201crecyclable material,\u201d and \u201cproducer responsibility\u201d have been clarified or redefined.<\/li>\n<p><\/ul>\n<p><\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>Changes to the recycling rates for plastics\n<ul>\n<li>The overall target has been reduced to 20% recycled plastic content.<\/li>\n<p> \t<\/p>\n<li>The proportion from closed cycles has been reduced to
