Conflict minerals

On April 17, 2026, the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) released new versions of its key reporting templates. The updates include the Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT 6.6), the Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT 2.11), and the Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT 1.31).

These updates support companies worldwide in maintaining accurate, standardized, and compliant responsible minerals and supply chain reporting.

CMRT 6.6 – Enhanced Product Transparency in Conflict Minerals Reporting

The CMRT version 6.6 introduces targeted improvements designed to increase clarity and traceability within conflict minerals reporting. Most notably, the Product List has been expanded to include:

  • Requester Product Number
  • Requester Product Name

These new fields allow for clearer product identification and improved data consistency across reporting entities.

Additional updates in CMRT 6.6 include:

  • Functional enhancements that remain fully aligned with the IPC‑1755 standard
  • Updated ISO short names for countries and states/provinces
  • Revisions to the Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List

RMI recommendation: For the current reporting year, companies should use CMRT version 6.5 or higher.
📅 The next CMRT release is expected in Spring 2027.

EMRT 2.11 – Improved Stability and Data Quality

With EMRT version 2.11, the RMI continues to refine extended minerals reporting to improve usability and data accuracy.

Key changes include:

  • Enhancements fully compatible with IPC‑1755
  • Updated ISO country and regional abbreviations
  • Correction of a date input issue in the Declaration tab
  • Updated Smelter Reference List and Standard Smelter List

📅 The next EMRT version is also anticipated in Spring 2027.

AMRT 1.31 – Focused Updates for Additional Minerals Reporting

The AMRT version 1.31 includes targeted technical updates to ensure consistency across RMI tools:

  • Updated ISO short names for countries and regions
  • Resolution of a date entry issue in the Declaration tab
