Objective

By the end of this training, you’ll have a solid understanding of the material and product compliance requirements that apply specifically to the U.S. market and form the basis of IMDS reporting. You’ll learn why the International Material Data System (IMDS) was created, its ongoing purpose, and how it supports regulatory compliance.

You will gain hands‑on proficiency with the IMDS platform and be able to independently create, edit, and manage Material Data Sheets (MDSs). You’ll know how to register your company in IMDS, follow the system’s terms of use, and apply the core definitions and functions needed for accurate reporting.

You will learn how to build structure trees, search for and integrate high‑quality data sheets, and apply effective methods for ensuring data accuracy. You’ll also understand essential change‑management requirements and know how to implement updates with confidence.

In addition, you’ll learn how to avoid common submission errors by reviewing OEM‑specific acceptance criteria and will be able to perform basic administrative tasks within IMDS to support your organization’s compliance workflow.
