PFAS reporting obligation in the USA postponed to 2026

PFAS

On May 13, 2025, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the deadlines for PFAS reporting under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), Section 8(a)(7), have been extended again. Namely to April 13, 2026 (instead of originally July 2025). Notifications must be completed by October 13, 2026; small companies that only import articles have time until April 13, 2027.

All companies that manufactured or imported PFAS or imported articles containing PFAS between 2011 and 2022 are affected. Information on production and use, disposal and by-products, exposure and environmental and health effects must be reported.

For companies, this means more preparation time to collect data and adapt processes.
