Three new substances on the REACH candidate list

REACH

Three new substances have been on the REACH Candidate List since June 25, 2025:

1,1,1,3,5,5,5-heptamethyl-3-[(trimethylsilyl)oxy]trisiloxanes (CAS number: 17928-28-8)
Decamethyltetrasiloxanes (CAS number: 141-62-8)
Tetra(sodium/potassium) 7-[(E)-{2-acetamido-4-[(E)-(4-{[4-chloro-6-({2-[(4-fluoro-6-{[4-(vinylsulfonyl)phenyl]amino}-1,3, 5-triazine-2-yl)amino]propyl}amino)-1,3,5-triazine-2-yl]amino}-5-sulfonato-1-naphthyl)diazenyl]-5-methoxyphenyl}diazenyl]-1,3,6-naphthalenetrisulfonate; Reactive Brown 51

The first two substances are used, for example, in cosmetics, personal care products and car care products. They are very persistent and very bioaccumulative, i.e. they degrade poorly and accumulate in organisms. The third substance is often used as a textile treatment agent and in dyes. However, this substance is toxic to reproduction, i.e. it is mutagenic.

Inclusion in the candidate list is accompanied by extensive reporting obligations. Customers and consumers must be given information on safe use and have a right to know whether products contain these substances. Products containing these substances in a concentration of more than 0.1% (by weight) must also be reported to the SCIP database.
