You are familiar with the basic goals and background of the defined “Green Deal” in the EU by 2050, which includes the Carbon Footprint, among others. You know the Product Carbon Footprint reporting requirements for your company and understand the calculation of a Product Carbon Footprint using a basic example. You are familiar with related terms, such as “Life Cycle Assessment” (LCA), “Product Environmental Footprint” (PEF) and “Corporate Carbon Footprint” (CCF). Furthermore, you are able to determine the scope of greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 to 3) for your company.

Participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the purpose, structure, and application of the CMRT, EMRT, and AMRT reporting templates. You will be able to explain their regulatory context, identify differences between the templates, and understand how to implement them efficiently in practice using appropriate tools.
This knowledge enables you to lay the foundation for sustainable sourcing while strengthening and advancing risk management within your organization.
Objective
You will gain a thorough overview of the fundamentals and objectives of material compliance. You will understand the structure and impact of relevant European and international legislation, as well as the role of declaration formats as a technical implementation tool.
After the seminar, you will be able to classify requirements, name the most important standards, and assess their significance for sustainability, supply chains, and product development.

Up-on completion of this training, you are familiar with the contents of the regulations for electrical and electronic components and can apply their rules and guidelines in order to create correct material data sheets in IMDS. In addition, you are familiar with the current exemptions for lead in electrical and electronic assemblies and their applications. You will be able to account for the relevant policies and their implications in your IMDS processes and avoid unnecessary overhead for corrections. Also, you know alternative solutions for reporting regarding the deactivated IMDS Rec 019. You support a functioning customer and supplier relationship and avoid having any material data sheets rejected.
Your advantage: You will improve the quality of your IMDS processes, strengthen collaboration with customers and suppliers, and confidently adapt to new regulatory requirements.

You will learn why the International Material Data System (IMDS) was established and its ongoing objectives. You will become familiar with the basic objectives and background information relating to the EU’s Green Deal. This includes the 2050 climate objectives, the carbon footprint, and the End-of-Life Vehicles Directive. You will become familiar with the global materials and product compliance requirements that underpin the IMDS and related systems. You will become familiar with the IMDS process flow, understand your responsibilities in terms of serving as a data link in the supply chain, and know when the time has come to start reporting in the IMDS. You will learn how to use the IMDS and understand common definitions. In addition, you will become familiar with the requirements and topics associated with the IMDS. Based on our curriculum for the advanced courses, you can assess how you can further your education according to (future) tasks you will undertake within your company.
