IMDS
DXC Technology has announced the rollout of IMDS Release 13.2 for April 27, 2022. Here is an overview and brief explanation of the upcoming changes:
Warning for Application Code “Other Application (Potentially Prohibited)”
In the IMDS check routine, a warning is displayed if the application code “Other Application (potentionally prohibited)” is selected. Reason: it is not clear what is hidden behind it and data sheets are therefore often rejected. However, MDS with this application code can be sent.
In the IMDS check routine, there will no longer be a warning if there is no valid application code for the substance in question.
By default, a check mark is set to allow the recipient of an MDS to forward it. If this check mark is removed, a warning now appears, but it can still be sent. However, there are companies that reject data if forwarding is not allowed.
For the four heavy metal classifications, there is a threshold value of 0.1% or 0.01% in the GADSL below which the substances can be used. With Release 13.2, you can only use the application code if the sum of all substances in the group is below the threshold.
In IMDS you get a warning if you create different node types on the same level. This warning is adapted, because in the context of REACH and SCIP this representation is necessary and permissible.
With Release 13.2, recyclate information for plastic materials (classification 5.x) is entered at the material level.
