Virtual Products (VPs) are the central working and analysis object in iPCA. They are intended to virtually represent products or product variants in order to perform material and compliance analyses at product level, independently of individual IMDS data sets. VPs consolidate relevant IMDS data sets into a logically defined unit (e.g. product, variant, customer configuration), thereby enabling the management of product information independently of the product’s underlying material declaration.
Objective
You are familiar with the possibilities which are provided by the VP Mod-ule in iPCA. You understand the creation, application and benefits of VPs and you are able to professionally administer, configure, and use VPs throughout their entire lifecycle. You can manage VP types and check configurations, apply special VP attributes in a targeted manner, and create and use VPs from various sources. Furthermore, you are able to work effectively with VPs, interpret calculated values at VP level, perform actions at VP, parts list, and data set level, and – if licensed – safely apply SCIP functions. As an administrator you know how to configure the VP parameter as well as the check configuration for VPs (having the related administrative privileges). As a user you know how to configure a VP and make use of the functions available for VPs. As an analyst you know how to create a VP from an analysis result for further usage. Upon completion of the training, you are able to use Virtual Products (VPs) in iPCA in a targeted and role specific manner.
You will learn how to use Virtual Products in a targeted and role-based manner to efficiently perform product and compliance analyses independently of individual IMDS records. This will give you transparency at the product level, enable you to securely manage information, and make informed decisions throughout the entire lifecycle.
