The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has said that in 2022 it will verify “whether companies are complying with their obligations under the Biocides Regulation (BPR) and national legislation concerning the making available of biocidal products on the EU market.” Mandated inspectors from enforcement agencies will conduct both on-site and desktop inspections for this purpose.

The goal, he said, is to raise awareness of the issue among companies, as well as to create a safe market for biocidal products and a level playing field.
