This exam preparation is the preliminary stage for the actual IMDS Expert (cert.) examination, which will be taken at a later date (dates to follow). It serves as the starting point for the crucial phase in which you independently review and consolidate the knowledge acquired from the seminars of the IMDS Competence Pyramid (Level 1–2) and, if necessary, attend any remaining courses to successfully pass the IMDS Expert (cert.) exam.

You know the background and objectives of the REACH regulation and learn which business areas are affected. You will know when a restriction of use and authorisation obligation for substances applies. You can use the IMDS to identify REACH-relevant basic substances and can also check your own and incoming material data sheets for REACH compliance. You know about your duty to inform towards your customers and suppliers. You know what actions you can take if you do not receive any information from your suppliers and how you can implement REACH in your operational practice in order to comply with legal requirements. In addition, you know what changes have occurred as a result of the Brexit.

Statutory directives and regulations place high demands on compliance. You will learn about the background and objectives of the RoHS Directive and which operating areas are affected by it. You know the scope of the directive and which substances are affected and are able to check your suppliers’ electrical and electronic components for compliance with the current exemptions. You are able to apply the directive in your daily work and implement it in your company. In addition, you are in a position to check for RoHS compliance by means of screenings and further analysis procedures and thus provide proof of RoHS compliance.
