Five new substances on the REACH candidate list

REACH

Today it was time again: the REACH candidate list was updated. This happens twice a year, once in January and once in June. This means that new substances are classified as substances of very high concern and added as SVHC. These substances are therefore subject to reporting.

The following have been added:

  • Oligomerisation and alkylation reaction products of 2-phenylpropene and phenol
  • Bumetrizole (UV-326) – CAS No. 3896-11-5
  • 2-(dimethylamino)-2-[(4-methylphenyl)methyl]-1-[4-(morpholin-4-yl)phenyl]butan-1-one – CAS-Nr. 119344-86-4
  • 2-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-(1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl)phenol (UV-329) – CAS No. 3147-75-9
  • 2,4,6-tri-tert-butylphenol – CAS No. 732-26-3

Products containing more than 0.1% by mass of these SVHCs must be reported to the SCIP database if they are produced and/or placed on the market in the EU. These substances are now also labeled in the IMDS. In addition, companies are obliged to answer questions from end customers within 45 days. You can find more information on REACH here.
