SCIP database is updated

SCIP

The annual IUCLID update also has an impact on the SCIP database. For example, the user interface of IUCLID has been improved (for example, it is now possible to upload data in repeatable blocks from a text file (CSV) and the presentation of data for mandatory sections and confidential fields has been optimised). Maintenance work has also been carried out at the format extension level for New Zealand, Australia and at the EU level for several pieces of legislation: REACH, CLP (including PCN), SCIP and Plant Protection Products. The adaptation of the SCIP database to the new IUCLID format means, among other things, that the list of article categories (harmonised list based on the European Union Integrated Tariff – TARIC list) has been updated.

The other changes in the SCIP database:

  • From December 2021, users will be able to search the database for (full) SCIP numbers.
  • The item identifier search section has been improved and now offers the possibility to optionally search for specific identifier types (e.g. brand name, serial number, EAN code, etc.).
  • Technical improvements to reduce the loading time of the front-end portal and improve the processing of large and complex items in particular.

In our SCIP training courses you will learn more about the background and objectives of the database and how to fulfil your reporting obligations.
