The REACH candidate list was updated

REACH

As usual in January, the REACH candidate list was updated on January 17, 2022. Four further substances have been added, including tris(2-methoxyethoxy)vinylsilanes and 6,6′-di-tert-butyl-2,2′-methylenedi-p-cresol. The latter is used, among other things, as an antioxidant for elastomers, rubber, paints and polymers. Inclusion in the candidate list may have implications for material reporting, for example in the IMDS. Because as of February 4, these substances will be marked as SVHC in the IMDS. First of all, the existing Material Data Sheets (MDS) should therefore be searched for the substances concerned and adapted if necessary. The current list of candidates can be found on the ECHA websites.

In principle, the candidate list is updated twice a year (January and July), and six months later the newly included substances are then subject to mandatory reporting.

In our training courses, we address the new restrictions and show you the correct way to handle the REACH candidate list. We would also be happy to advise you on all topics of material compliance or take over the reporting completely for you. Just get in touch with us.
