The REACH regulation helps to make products safer

REACH

The aim of the European chemicals regulation REACH is to make products safer and to protect health and the environment. Studies regularly published by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) show that this is successful. They can be read here.

The latest study, for example, shows that when trichloroethene (TCE) was added to the REACH candidate list in 2010, its use decreased by over 95%. TCE is a solvent that was commonly used in mold and roller washes in the printing industry and in metalworking operations as a parts cleaner. Trichloroethene is harmful to health and highly narcotic, is classified as a carcinogen (especially kidney cancer), and is suspected of causing genetic defects.

The REACH candidate list is updated twice a year. At our ipCampus you will find a wide range of training courses. Here you will learn, among other things, what the classification of chemical substances as SVHC means and how to deal with it correctly. If required, we can support you in your tasks with our extensive support service and consulting offerings.
